SAMSUNG (uses symbian os)
Symbian OS debuted in 2001 as Symbian Version 6. This was due to the operating system being based on the previous EPOC system which was created by a company named Psion. In 2000 Psion partnered with Nokia, Panasonic, Motorola and Ericsson to create an operating system core for mobile phones which was now known as Symbian OS. Symbian was designed specifically for mobile phones, however contained features of larger OS with features like multitasking and memory management. It was object oriented. Symbian also supported an extensible storage system. The system also inherited an emphasis on multimedia and communication from its predecessor EPOC.
